About us
Llandrindod RFC was formed in 1972 and currently plays in the Cambrian Training
League, based in Mid Wales. This area includes clubs from Welshpool in the
North, Llandrindod in the South, Aberystwyth, Towyn and UCW in the West and
Tref-y-Clawdd in the East.
Though based in the town of Llandrindod Wells, the club draws from a catchment
area as far as Rhayader and Builth Wells. Our clubhouse was built in 1981 using
members' labour and stands on land leased from Powys CC. The pitch, at Lant
Avenue, is also leased from Powys and has match floodlights, again provided
through self help some years ago.
In recent times we have attracted players from
overseas
and from other parts of the UK. We like to think that we provide a local service
and have a social responsibility to the area. At one time, our clubhouse was
even used for a pre-school playgroup!
